Pakistani athlete Samar Khan conquers Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus

GILGIT: Samar Khan, a pioneering athlete from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has achieved international recognition by successfully scaling Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, which stands at 5,642 meters.

This feat establishes her as the first Pakistani woman to conquer the mountain, marking a historic moment in the annals of Pakistani mountaineering.

Khan’s accomplishment has been supported by the Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North, which sponsored her expedition. She expressed her gratitude towards the organization for its critical role in facilitating her journey.

In addition to her achievement on Mount Elbrus, Khan has excelled in other extreme sports. Following her ascent, she snowboarded down the mountain, demonstrating her versatility and prowess in adventure sports.

Previously, Khan was recognized as the first female cyclist to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro and navigate the third-largest non-polar glacier in the world. Her series of achievements highlight her commitment to pushing limits and excelling in extreme conditions.

In 2021, she won the Redbull Homerun snowboarding race, further elevating Pakistan’s stature on the global sports stage. Reflecting on her accomplishments, Samar Khan expressed joy and appreciation for the continuous support from the people of Pakistan throughout her adventures.
