Pakistani shooters clinch gold and silver at Thailand championship

LAHORE: Pakistani shooters excelled at the Thailand Shooting Championship in Bangkok, claiming a gold and a silver medal, boosting prospects for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Kashmala Talat led the way in the women’s 25m pistol event, securing a gold medal with a score of 575. This win not only marks a significant achievement but also qualifies her for the Paris Olympics.

Talat, who previously won bronze at the Asian Games in Jakarta, is now set to compete on the Olympic stage.

Gulfam Joseph complemented this success in the 10m air pistol event, earning a silver medal with his precise performance. This achievement confirms his place among Pakistan’s Olympic hopefuls.

With these successes, Pakistani shooters like Talat, Joseph, and Ghulam Mustafa Bashir, who had earlier qualified, are gearing up for the Olympics.

The Thailand Championship has proven to be a crucial venue for showcasing the capabilities and potential of Pakistani marksmen on the international scene, raising expectations for a strong performance in Paris.
