Governor Kundi emphasises healthcare reforms, proposes Sindh model

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, emphasised the urgent need to modernize the healthcare sector in the province during a meeting with the Peoples Doctors Forum at the Governor House.

The delegation discussed various challenges faced by medical professionals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including issues related to facilities and the overall healthcare system.

Governor Kundi expressed his commitment to enhancing healthcare services, stating that providing top-notch medical facilities is a fundamental responsibility of the government.

He highlighted the shortcomings of the current Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) system in the province and advocated for the adoption of the health system model used in Sindh across the country to achieve noticeable improvements in healthcare.

To move forward with these reforms, he requested the medical experts to develop detailed plans and proposals for the establishment of a Medical Commission.

The meeting concluded with Dr. Janbaz, leading the delegation, expressing gratitude towards Governor Kundi for his support and constructive suggestions aimed at revitalizing the health sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
