LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday issued directives to submit detailed PC-1 documents for all projects by July 15, emphasising transparency, quality, and strict deadline adherence.
Chairing a pivotal meeting of the Planning and Development Board, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif scrutinized the annual development program for 2024-25, stressing the paramount importance of timely project completion.
She highlighted the initiation of ambulance services at every motorway interchange across Punjab during the briefing.
The meeting detailed 106 development projects bolstered by foreign institutions’ support, alongside presentations on 83 District Development Committee and 431 Biennial Development Working Party initiatives.
Reviewing progress reports from various committees, including the Departmental Development Sub-Committee and Provincial Development Working Party, the Chief Minister prioritized kickstarting key road constructions by specified dates.
Among the directives, a deadline of August 13 was set for launching significant road projects like Sahiwal to Saharani and Bahawalnagar to Jhangra Eastern Interchange Road, with similar mandates for other strategic routes.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif also instructed the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to establish a real-time monitoring dashboard for all ongoing projects, underscoring efficient fund utilization and immediate disbursement of allocated funds.
Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered the release of Rs 400 million for ongoing development projects, emphasizing the quarterly disbursement of 25% of the universal health insurance fund and expeditious completion of health center renovations.
Amidst her administration’s ambitious development agenda, Maryam Nawaz Sharif affirmed Punjab’s commitment to executing projects diligently, prioritizing public welfare over administrative expenditures.
