Lahore customs charge whopping amount to release famous vlogger’s motorbike

LAHORE- Travel vlogger Abrar Hasan, who shares his experiences of traveling to countries like South Africa and India on his motorbike was allegedly charged an unjustifiable amount of money to clear his motorbike from customs.

Abrar, who posts his travel videos on his YouTube channel ‘Wildlens by Abrar’, shipped his bike by air from Cape Town, South Africa to Lahore.

Abrar claimed in his video post about the incident that once the bike he uses to travel around the world landed at Lahore airport, it became a hassle to get it released despite paying the agreed upon charges.

Watch the full video below:

The staff at customs delayed the process leading to additional storage charges. As per Abrar, Lahore customs charged Rs 20,000 per day to store his bike in their storage yard. Abrar was told that clearing his bike would take 7 days for a cost of Rs 140,000.

The clearance however took 26 days due to delays caused by Lahore customs, Abrar alleges. The total cost was Rs 580,000.

Excuses for the delays made by customs was that they did not know the procedure to clear a bike shipped under as a ‘Carnet’. A change of staff at Lahore customs also led to delays as per Abrar.

Abrar claims that he had to involve a few ‘influential’ persons to get his motorbike cleared, as well.
