Renowned singer Sonu Nigam paid a heartfelt tribute to the iconic vocalist Asha Bhosle by washing her feet. The scene unfolded at a grand book unveiling event in Mumbai, where Asha Bhosle’s illustrious life was celebrated with the launch of ‘Swaraswamini Asha’.
The event was attended by various esteemed Indian personalities, including actor Jackie Shroff and singer Sonu Nigam.
During the ceremony, Sonu took the stage and respectfully sat at Asha Bhosle’s feet, first kissing them and then gently washing them with his hands. After drying her feet with a towel, he touched them again before stepping away from the stage.
It was reported that Sonu also delivered a heartfelt speech, praising Asha Bhosle’s contributions to music, along with her late sister, Lata Mangeshkar.
Meanwhile, actor Jackie Shroff also showed his respect by touching Asha Bhosle’s feet and presenting her with a bouquet of flowers.
