ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has suspended the reintegration of any leaders into the party until the release of its founder, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, from jail.
This policy was reportedly decided by Imran Khan himself and will be reassessed upon his release.
Following these directives, PTI has established a seven-member committee to evaluate the potential return of former members. The committee will be led by former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Other notable members include former Speaker Asad Qaiser, Hamid Khan, Shehryar Afridi, Barrister Gohar, and Shibli Faraz. Additionally, Shandana Gulzar, responsible for overseeing the reintegration of female members, will also contribute to the committee’s efforts.
This committee is tasked with reviewing the credentials of leaders wishing to rejoin, providing detailed reports and recommendations to Imran Khan for final approval. The decision reflects a strategic approach by PTI to manage its internal dynamics and ensure alignment with the party’s foundational principles and leadership.
