LAHORE: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Punjab government has announced the transfer and reassignment of 15 senior bureaucrats across various departments.
The reshuffle, detailed in a notification released on Monday, includes both promotions and new appointments aimed at enhancing the efficiency of provincial governance.
Among the key appointments, Umar Farooq has been named the Deputy Secretary of the Agriculture Department, while Amina Rafiq will now serve as the Director-General of the Punjab Food Authority.
Muhammad Sajid Bashir takes on the role of Additional Secretary in the School Education Department, and Imran Hussain Ranjha has been transferred to the Services Department.
Further changes include Muhammad Shayan Ali Jawa moving to the Punjab Food Authority and Lubna Nazir being appointed as Additional Secretary in the Specialized Health Department. Rao Nadeem Akhtar and Farhat Hussain Farooq have been appointed as Additional Secretaries in the Food and School Education Departments, respectively.
Additionally, Saifur Rehman has been assigned to the Secretary Food South Punjab office, and Bushra Naseer has been designated an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) from the Punjab Revenue Authority.
Noorul Ain Qureshi is the new Additional Secretary of the Finance Department, and Muhammad Azeem Shaukat has also been made OSD from the Human Rights Department.
Completing the series of appointments, Hafiz Irfan Habib and Syed Ayub Bukhari have been named Deputy Secretaries in the Specialized Healthcare and Admin Transport Departments, respectively. This reshuffle is part of ongoing efforts to streamline administration and enhance service delivery within the Punjab government.
