Imran Khan calls urgent meeting to address party rifts

ISLAMABAD: In response to growing unrest within the ranks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party’s founder and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, on Wednesday convened a crucial meeting with discontented members of the National Assembly.

This assembly is scheduled amidst swirling rumors of a possible formation of a forward block within the party.

Key PTI figures, including Shehryar Afridi, Junaid Akbar, and Shandana Gulzar, have been summoned to meet with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail tomorrow. Prominent opposition leaders such as Umar Ayub, Senate Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz, and Rauf Hassan are also expected to participate.

The meeting is aimed at directly addressing the concerns and grievances expressed by some of the party’s lawmakers. Imran Khan’s initiative is seen as an effort to reaffirm unity and quell any divisions within the party, thereby consolidating PTI’s stance amid the current political turbulence.
