Punjab to experience heavy rainfall spell till July 8

Punjab is set to experience an extended period of rainfall as western winds sweep across the region, bringing relief from the recent heatwave.

Chief Meteorologist Shahid Abbas has announced that the rains will continue until July 8, accompanied by thundershowers and a noticeable decrease in temperatures.

According to the Met Department, Lahore and other cities in Punjab will continue to receive intermittent rainfall throughout the coming days. This weather pattern is attributed to the western winds that have entered the upper regions of the country, affecting weather conditions across Punjab.

The arrival of these western winds signifies a welcome change in weather dynamics, leading to a decrease in temperatures. Residents can expect cooler weather conditions compared to the recent heat spell, providing relief from the scorching summer temperatures.

As the rainy season progresses, the Met Department advises residents to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions. Thundershowers can sometimes be accompanied by gusty winds and localized flooding, so caution is advised while commuting or engaging in outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, Lahore experienced intermittent rain throughout the day, significantly reducing the intensity of the heat. The temperature is expected to reach up to 34°C, with the rain continuing until July 8 as forecasted by Chief Meteorologist Shahid Abbas.

Areas like Gulberg, Model Town, Jail Road, and Kalma Chowk witnessed varying intensities of rain and strong winds, contributing to the pleasant weather conditions.
