Iddat Case: Khawar Maneka files two petitions in Islamabad Sessions Court

Khawar Maneka, the former husband of Bushra Bibi, has filed two petitions in the Iddat Nikah case before the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad.

During a session led by Judge Afzal Majoka, Maneka’s counsel sought a legal opinion on key aspects of the case. One petition requests the formation of a Medical Board for expert opinion, while the other seeks guidance from the Islamic Ideological Council, Federal Shariat Court, and Islamic scholars.

Judge Majoka has issued notices to all parties involved and scheduled a hearing for July 11 to deliberate on Maneka’s petitions.

This development occurs amidst ongoing legal proceedings concerning Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s marriage, for which they were sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. Both parties have appealed the verdict, currently under review.

The High Court has instructed the lower court to resolve the matter by July 12.
