- IHC allows ex-federal minister to travel abroad from August 10 to 24
LAHORE: Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday asserted that Pakistan’s political stability hinges on the inclusion of Imran Khan in the political system.
Addressing the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore on Tuesday, the former PTI leader criticized the current government’s approach, stating that the Constitution was being disregarded and campaigns were being conducted against judges. He expressed concern over the deteriorating state of Pakistan’s institutions, including the Election Commission, FIA, police, and prosecution, claiming that it seemed the institutions were systematically dismantled.
Highlighting the plight of the common man, Fawad Ch pointed out that rising electricity bills and economic mismanagement were causing widespread distress. He took a jab at the finance minister, a Dutch citizen, accusing him of damaging Pakistan’s economy before eventually leaving the country.
He asserted that major global powers, including China, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the European Union, were urging Pakistan to bring political stability. “I firmly believe this can only be achieved by reintegrating Imran Khan into the political framework”, he stressed.
He called for a grand political dialogue to end the prevailing bitterness, stating that the future of Pakistan depended on such initiatives.
