ISLAMABAD: In a strategic move to transform Gwadar into a modern logistic hub, the government is replacing the outdated WeBOC (Web-based One Custom System) with the advanced Pakistan Single Window (PSW) system.
This state-of-the-art digital customs management system is set to enhance the customs operations in Gwadar, aiming to integrate high-tech automation, standardization, and harmonization across all logistical activities and services pertaining to land, air, and sea routes, as reported by Gwadar Pro.
The new Single Window system will facilitate connections between Customs, banking channels, and various other institutions, significantly improving efficiency and reducing processing times across different departments.
With this initiative, thousands of WeBOC’s registered users, including businesses and government departments such as the Anti-Narcotic Force, Engineering Development Board, State Bank of Pakistan, Ministry of Climate Change, Railways, Income Tax Department, Provincial Motor Registering Authorities, and Commercial Banks, will be integrated into the Pakistan Single Window system.
An official from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) highlighted to Gwadar Pro that this strategic shift is designed to upgrade and transform the core functions of Pakistan Customs through comprehensive Business Process Mapping & Re-engineering.
