Karachi Police arrest suspect in kidnapping of two sisters

The Karachi police have apprehended a suspect involved in the abduction of two sisters from the Shershah area of the city, as reported by a private news outlet on Tuesday.

The sisters were successfully rescued from the house of the accused, who reportedly taught religious education. Their disappearance had been reported by a relative, who filed a complaint leading to the registration of the case.

In a related development, the Sindh Anti-Corruption Department conducted an operation, arresting a Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police inspector on corruption charges.

Imtiaz Abro, Director of Anti-Corruption, revealed a troubling case involving a CIA police inspector named Abid Ali in the kidnapping of a citizen named Adnan.

Adnan, who arrived in Karachi on March 25 with plans to travel to Europe, was reportedly abducted by Inspector Abid Ali on April 7 near Karachi’s Sadar area. The inspector demanded a ransom for Adnan’s release.

After failing to receive the demanded ransom, Inspector Abid allegedly staged an arrest on April 19 near Hub River Road, claiming custody of Adnan. According to Abro, Inspector Abid had already extorted Rs 3 million as ransom and was demanding an additional Rs 800,000 for Adnan’s release.
