Former President Donald Trump arrived Monday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, two days after an assassination attempt against him at a rally in Pennsylvania.
The suspected shooter, who was killed by law enforcement, killed one person and seriously injured two.
With bandages around his ear, which was injured in the shooting, Trump walked onstage to a live version of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.,” while delegates in the audience chanted and cheered. During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and Trump will formally accept the Republican nomination for president.
On Monday, Trump named Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate.
