Shooting at Karachi barber shop claims life of PPP leader’s nephew

In a tragic incident at a barber shop located in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Sajid Sharif, nephew of Wasim Brohi, the president of PPP District City Area PS 101 Youth Wing and a regional leader of PPP, was fatally shot.

Karachi Police confirmed the victim as 35-year-old Sajid Sharif, son of Sharif Dilshan Sajid.

Sajid Sharif, who was the third among six brothers and worked at a poultry meat shop, fell victim to the shooting allegedly involving five suspects: Nasser, Hamza, Bilal, Razaq, and Rizwan. A case against them is pending.

Expressing grief, Sajid’s uncle, Sajid Brohi, shared that the family was devastated by the loss. He appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Army Chief, DG Rangers, IG Sindh, Additional IG Karachi, DIG East, and all police authorities to ensure swift justice by apprehending the perpetrators.

SHO Aziz Bhatti, Shehzad Ilyas, revealed that one of the accused, Nasser, had a history of violence, having previously killed Sajid’s cousin and served 16 years in prison before being released on bail four months ago.

Dr. Sikandar from Jinnah Hospital MLO reported that Sajid sustained ten gunshot wounds in the attack. SSP Gulshan Iqbal, Abdul Aleem, indicated that the shooting stemmed from a family feud, with eight bullet casings recovered from the scene.

While the family has identified several suspects, they refrain from formally naming anyone until legal proceedings are initiated. Police officials are actively investigating the case, aiming to uncover further details surrounding the tragic incident.
