Prince Harry’s two-word insult about Camilla was ‘last straw’ for King

Prince Harry’s controversial remarks about Queen Camilla in his memoir “Spare” have reportedly enraged King Charles, who viewed his son’s statements as a severe breach of respect, according to a royal insider.

The Duke of Sussex published his book in January 2023. Shortly thereafter, he and his wife, Meghan Markle, were asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. It appears that Harry’s contentious comments about the King’s wife were a significant factor in this decision.

Harry mentioned Camilla more than 60 times in “Spare,” referring to her as “the Other Woman” and his “wicked stepmother.” The latter term reportedly struck a particularly sensitive nerve with Charles.

A private news outlet cites a royal insider claiming that the King acted decisively after being presented with a dossier containing details from Harry’s memoir. The insider stated, “It was the last straw. Harry knew well that Camilla was a red line for his father, yet he crossed it with blatant disregard. The King felt it was undoubtedly a line crossed – the ultimate act of disrespect.”
