Havelian community calls for private school closures amid heat wave

HAVELIAN: As extreme heat grips Tehsil Havelian, local residents on Sunday have urged the government to immediately close the private schools until 1st of August.

Despite the unbearable heat caused by the lack of rain and increased humidity, some private schools are reopening today, posing potential health risks for children.

Public schools in the area remain closed until 1st August, but private schools are operating at their discretion, causing concern among parents and the community. The intense heat and humidity make it challenging for children to attend classes, leading to calls for immediate action from the provincial government and district administration.

Parents have reported that the reopening of private schools amid such conditions was causing significant inconvenience and potential health hazards. They emphasized the need for a uniform policy to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. The community demands that the district administration enforce the closure of all private schools until 1st August to prevent any adverse effects on the children’s health.
