In a statement, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that Zaman Park had become a training headquarters for terrorists, where petrol bombs were made and training for attacks on the state was provided. The planning for May 9 was done during the four-month drama of having a plaster cast on his leg.
She added that the criminal of May 9 has confessed to planning and facilitating the incident. This is not a party but a disruptive group whose sole purpose is to harm the state through mischief.
Maryam Nawaz questioned the nature of the so-called peaceful protest that saw attacks on over 200 military installations, Air Force planes set on fire, Corps Commander houses burned, and memorials of martyrs desecrated.
The Chief Minister of Punjab stated that the conspiracies to default Pakistan, write to the IMF, wave the cipher, and disrespect the memorials of martyrs are all part of a larger conspiracy. With the presence of evidence and proofs, it is imperative for the country’s security and national interests to take strict action against this disruptive and mischievous group according to the constitution and law.
She further said that this is the same conspiratorial group that distanced friendly countries from Pakistan, used abusive language against their leadership, made baseless allegations against CPEC and China, and prevented the Chinese President’s visit through sit-ins.
Maryam Nawaz added that this disruptive group attacked the Parliament, PTV, and Prime Minister’s House in 2014, injured police officers, washed dirty clothes on the walls of the Supreme Court, and dug graves in D-Chowk.
