In an unexpected turn of events in the Khalilur Rehman Qamar kidnap and torture case where the scriptwriter was abducted and robbed in Lahore, the lawyer of the main accused, Amna Urooj has alleged that she too was kidnapped and was being blackmailed by the Qamar beforehand.
Speaking to the media, the lawyer alleged that Qamar had certain illicit video of Amna Urooj, on the basis of which she was being blackmailed by Qamar to indulge in ‘physical relations’.

Urooj then asked for the help of one Hasan Shah to delete those videos. Qamar was then invited to Urooj’s Bahria Town residence under the pretext of discussing a drama series to be written by Qamar.
When Qamar arrived he was detained and robbed by Hasan Shah and his men at gunpoint at which point Urooj was also detained by the kidnappers, alleges the lawyer.

“She was being blackmailed from both sides. Her initial statement was under duress while she was under arrest. She is not involved in any criminal activity”, he added.
He added that Urooj and her younger sister remained in detention of police for three days since the 18th of July and when the FIR was lodged against them on 20th of July.
He also alleges that there were no female police officers present during that time.
The police however claim that Qamar was kidnapped and robbed on 15th of July and he reported the incident on 20th of July after which the suspects were apprehended.
