Prince William, 42, earned a substantial income of $30 million from his Duchy of Cornwall estate during the 2023-2024 financial year, according to a private news outlet.
The estate, which William inherited from his father, King Charles III, upon his ascension to the throne in September 2022, generated a distributable surplus of £23.6 million ($30.4 million) from its investments, as stated in the latest Integrated Annual Report.
William, holding the title of Duke of Cornwall, oversees the Duchy of Cornwall, valued at over $1 billion, which funds the lives of the heirs to the throne. Officially, the private estate supports Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton, and their three children in their “official, charitable, and private activities.”
Established in 1337 by King Edward III, the Duchy covers approximately 205 square miles across the UK, including arable and livestock farms, residential and commercial properties, forests, rivers, quarries, and coastline.
The report also detailed William’s new roles and titles. An avid football fan, he has been named Patron of the Football Association, a role previously held by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Additionally, William now oversees the Welsh Guards Charity and the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association.
He has also been appointed president of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association, which honors civilians and military personnel with the highest military distinction.
In a shift of responsibilities, William stepped down as president of Fields in Trust to become its patron. Fields in Trust is an organization dedicated to protecting parks and green spaces across the UK.
