Jennifer Aniston hits back at JD Vance’s viral ‘childless cat ladies’ comments

Jennifer Aniston has responded to viral comments made by Republican vice presidential candidate Senator JD Vance, who referred to politicians without children as “childless cat ladies.”

On Wednesday, the 55-year-old star of “The Morning Show” took to her Instagram Stories to address these remarks. Aniston posted a screenshot of a social media post by Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of the MeidasTouch Network, which included a 2021 interview clip of Vance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

In the clip, Filipkowski highlighted Vance’s controversial statement: “JD Vance says women who haven’t given birth like Kamala Harris are ‘childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives,’ and have ‘no direct stake’ in America.”

Aniston expressed her disbelief, writing, “I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States. All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”

The original conversation between Vance and Carlson aired on Fox News in July 2021, during Vance’s campaign for the U.S. Senate seat in Ohio. In the interview, Vance criticized childless politicians, saying, “We are effectively run in this country… by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they wanna make the rest of the country miserable, too. It’s just a basic fact. You look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez), the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children.”

He further questioned the logic of having leaders without children, stating, “And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

It’s worth noting that Harris has two stepchildren with her husband, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff. Additionally, Transportation Secretary Buttigieg and his husband Chasten welcomed twins shortly after Vance’s interview.
