Punjab launches socio-economic registry project to enhance social protection

LAHORE: Following directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the province has officially launched the Socio-Economic Registry Project.

In a meeting chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz, the project’s progress was reviewed, and Deputy Commissioners were tasked with overseeing the registry. The project aims to record the economic status of households across the province, including livestock in rural areas. Approximately 5,000 registration centers have been established for this purpose.

Eligibility for various social protection programs, such as the e-bike initiative, Roshan Gharana Solar Program, Himat Card, Kisan Card, and other social protection schemes, will be restricted to registered individuals. Registered citizens will also have access to health cards, livestock cards, and scholarship programs.

Residents can register via the project’s portal, by contacting the helpline at 02345-0800, or online at www.pser.punjab.gov.pk. CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of accurate data to ensure that assistance reaches the rightful beneficiaries. She highlighted that the Socio-Economic Registry Project simplifies the registration process and will help the government address citizens’ issues. She instructed commissioners and deputy commissioners to facilitate citizens at the registration centers.
