Zulfiqar Ahmed, CEO Cola next returns home after abduction: Police

Industrialist Zulfiqar Ahmed, who was abducted from Karachi on July 23, has contacted his family after five days of being missing. His lawyer, Ali Ashfaq, confirmed that Zulfiqar is safe and will soon be returning home.

Meanwhile, police have claimed that the missing businessman has already returned home.

Ali Ashfaq reached out to Zulfiqar Ahmed’s father, Haji Riaz Ahmed, currently in Saudi Arabia, who also confirmed that his son would soon reach home safely. This communication has provided much-needed relief to the family, who have been anxiously awaiting news since the abduction.

Karachi DIG (South) Syed Asad Raza confirmed that Ahmed had reached his home in Lahore.

The high-profile kidnapping incident occurred on July 23, when eight armed men in a double cabin car reportedly abducted Zulfiqar Ahmed. His wife had filed a petition in the Sindh High Court for his recovery, after the police allegedly did not entertain her application for filing a kidnapping case. The incident, which took place on Mauripur Road in Karachi, has left the business community and the public in shock. According to the police, a case was registered based on the application of the manager of Zulfiqar Ahmed’s textile mill, where he was last seen.

According to the FIR, Zulfiqar Ahmed was traveling to Clifton with a friend, Qaiser, from his textile mill when their vehicle was intercepted by a car without a number plate on Mauripur Road. Armed individuals forced both men into their car. After traveling some distance, the kidnappers released Ahmed’s friend but took Zulfiqar Ahmed with them. The plaintiff also mentioned that Ahmed’s mobile phone has been continuously switched off since the incident.

In a related development, two senior employees of Zulfiqar Ahmed’s factory, who were also allegedly kidnapped a day ago, have been traced. The company’s management confirmed that they have established contact with Atif Afzal and Ameer Nawaz, the two senior workers. Both employees are confirmed to be safe and are expected to return soon.
