Federal govt approves new world-class zoo and safari in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A groundbreaking plan for Islamabad’s first international-standard zoo and safari park has been approved, offering world-class recreational facilities to its citizens.

The plan was discussed in a key meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the CDA headquarters. The CDA Chairman briefed on the project details, which received the Interior Minister’s approval.

The proposed zoo and safari park, covering 200 acres, will host around 5,000 animals and birds. It aims to meet global standards and will be registered with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Mohsin Naqvi shared that the foundation stone for the project is set to be laid in October. He emphasized that the zoo and safari park are expected to significantly boost tourism in the capital.
