FAISALABAD/NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A woman from the Christian community was raped by a robber during a daylight robbery in Faisalabad on Sunday.
According to details, a family from Chak No 34 GB in Faisalabad was traveling by motorcycle when two armed robbers intercepted them in the Sandal Bar area.
The robbers first snatched cash and cell phones from the family. One of the robbers then took the woman to a nearby field and raped her, while the other robber held the woman’s husband and another woman hostage at gunpoint.
The culprits fled the scene after committing the crime. Police have registered a case against the unidentified suspects and have launched efforts to apprehend them.
Man killed over son’s love marriage in Naushahro Feroze
In a separate incident in Naushahro Feroze, armed men shot and killed a man whose son had contracted a love marriage with his relative, police reported on Sunday.
According to details, a young man named Husnain Jokiyo, from the jurisdiction of Kandiaro police station, Naushahro Feroze, entered into a marriage of choice. In retaliation, the girl’s relatives shot and injured Shahid Jokhiyo, the father of the young man.
The injured man was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi, where he succumbed to his wounds during treatment. The police have registered a case and started raids to arrest the culprits.
