Lt. Uzair Malik laid to rest with full military honours

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant Uzair Mahmood Malik, who was martyred in the Tirah Valley, has been laid to rest with full military honors in his native area.

The funeral prayer and burial were attended by senior military officers, soldiers, family members, and local dignitaries, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). ISPR highlighted that the sacrifices of their brave martyrs further strengthen their resolve against terrorism.

Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik succumbed to his wounds and embraced martyrdom on Sunday at the Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar.

ISPR reported that on the preceding Friday, a firefight occurred between security forces and Khawarij at three different locations in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District.

At one of the locations in Bagh, Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, leading his troops from the front, fought bravely and neutralized four Khawarij. However, during the intense exchange of fire, the officer was critically injured and subsequently under treatment at CMH Peshawar.
