Rain to continue in Lahore for next 24 hours

Lahore witnessed a pleasant change in weather as rain showers continued today.

Rain swept across various neighbourhoods, including Model Town, Gulberg, Faisal Town, and Township.

The rain extended to areas around Firdous Market, breaking the oppressive heat and humidity that had gripped the city. The rain is expected to continue for the next 24 hours, according to the Met Department.

In Karachi, intermittent drizzle resulted in a significant drop in temperature, much to the relief of its residents. Light rain and drizzle are expected to continue throughout the day, with the Met Department forecasting a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius.

Currently, the temperature stands at 27 degrees Celsius, with a westerly wind blowing at 19 kilometres per hour. The humidity level has reached 94%, contributing to the cooler, more comfortable conditions.

The capital city of Islamabad also witnessed light to moderate rainfall across various sectors, including Blue Area, Sectors F-6, F-7, Bari Imam, Sector G-7, Aabpara Market, Zero Point, Peshawar Morr, and G-9. The rain varied in intensity, with some areas experiencing light showers while others had heavier downpours. Bara Kahu and its surrounding areas also saw intermittent rain, contributing to the overall pleasant weather.

In Attock, the city and its surrounding regions enjoyed a break from the heat as rain showers brought much-needed relief. The weather has become notably more pleasant, and the rain is expected to continue until the evening.

Muridke and its neighbouring areas also reported rainfall, which has significantly reduced the heat and humidity. Similarly, Kasur experienced light rain accompanied by cold winds, providing a refreshing change to the weather.

Overall, the widespread rain across Lahore, Islamabad, and other cities has brought welcome relief from the heat, with residents enjoying the cooler and more comfortable weather conditions. The Met Department’s forecast suggests that these pleasant conditions are likely to continue for at least the next 24 hours.
