‘All grievances have been resolved, Imran Khan has forgiven me’: Sher Afzal Marwat

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has stated that all grievances have been resolved, and the PTI founder Imran Khan has forgiven him.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Sher Afzal Marwat shared that after nearly three months, he finally met the PTI founder today. He said, “When I extended my hand, Imran Khan embraced me. The PTI founder jokingly asked why I hadn’t come earlier.”

He further added, “Today, I have resolved all differences. I have offered my apologies and requested that no further difficulties be created for me. The issue of disagreement was resolved after today’s meeting with the PTI founder. I was never actually expelled from the party; the notification of my expulsion was fake. Only Imran Khan has the authority to remove me from the party.”

Sher Afzal Marwat emphasized, “My love for Imran Khan cannot be diminished by gossip. The respect and affection the PTI founder showed me today is a lifelong treasure for me.”

He also mentioned that Barrister Gohar has been given clear instructions by the PTI founder regarding party issues. Imran Khan has sent a clear message that no differences will be tolerated, and everyone should be brought together. “I stayed in London for 21 days and returned a month ago. I am a lawyer of the Supreme Court and a citizen of Pakistan; who can stop me?” he said.

He expressed that the people of Pakistan desire the supremacy of democracy in the country, and emphasized the need for practical efforts to prevent the violation of rights.

“This is what Pakistan will witness—we will go to Lahore in large numbers. Those who wish to arrest us can do so. We will hold a public gathering on the 22nd here as well. Imran Khan has entrusted me with the responsibility for the August 22 gathering,” he added.

Sher Afzal Marwat assured that they would remain peaceful, but any attempt to disrupt their activities would provoke the anger of the public. “The nation needs to come forward with courage, resolve, and bravery. If anything like the events of May 9 happens again, we will be responsible, not the leadership,” he warned.

He further stated, “Whatever strategy is needed, I will formulate it, and I will not seek permission from the PTI founder. We will first build a movement, and when the time for an announcement comes, the whole of Pakistan will rise. Everyone is invited to join this struggle, which is for Pakistan. My contact with General Faiz must have been in a dream; it never happened in reality.”

It is worth noting that prior to this, Imran Khan had refused to meet Sher Afzal Marwat on several occasions.
