King Charles to hold ‘high-level’ Royal meeting at Balmoral to decide Prince Harry and Meghan’s fate

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently immersed in a cultural tour of Colombia, but their latest philanthropic efforts have reportedly caused a stir within the royal family. According to a private news outlet, the Sussexes’ recent activities have not gone unnoticed by the palace, and there may be repercussions concerning their royal titles.

A source close to the palace revealed that a “royal family summit” is scheduled to take place at Balmoral during the annual summer retreat. The insider explained, “The Royal Family is gathering at Balmoral to discuss various issues, including the situation with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. While many assume the Balmoral visit is merely a holiday, it also serves as a time for the family to hold pre-arranged meetings to evaluate their current standing and strategize for the future.”

Last summer marked the first without Queen Elizabeth II, and the royal family reportedly took the opportunity to reflect on her legacy. This year, however, the focus appears to be on how the family should move forward without the Sussexes. The couple’s involvement with the Invictus Games and their invitations from foreign leaders have reportedly become a point of contention for King Charles III and Prince William. “Their recent tours, along with an upcoming trip to Canada, are expected to be discussed, and the possibility of revoking their titles and peerages will be considered,” the source added.

The debate over Harry and Meghan’s royal titles has persisted since they stepped down from their roles within the royal family in 2020. Tom Quinn, author of Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle, mentioned in May that “Charles and William have had extensive discussions about stripping Meghan and Harry of their royal titles.” However, he doubts that they will follow through, citing concerns over the potential public relations fallout.

“They fear that such a move could backfire, exacerbating the situation,” Quinn noted. “The last thing they want is to give the Sussexes another reason to voice their grievances. Even without their royal titles, Meghan and Harry would likely continue their global travels as if they were still royals, and most people would still receive them warmly.”

Indeed, the success of Harry’s Invictus Games has garnered widespread acclaim, and numerous countries are eager to host the event, regardless of the couple’s royal status. While the issue of their titles may remain a topic of discussion, it seems unlikely to deter the Sussexes from their global engagements as long as tensions within the royal family persist.
