- Says ANP would never allow ‘war for dollars’ to be imposed on Pakhtun nation again
SWAT: Awami National Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Saturday claimed that the operation was still going on in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, despite their categorical opposition and without taking the Pakhtun nation into confidence, saying the ANP would fully resist it.
“The war for dollars has put the Pakhtun nation against the wall, but we will not allow this war to be imposed on us again and will resist it on every front”, Mian Iftikhar Hussain declared while addressing a gathering organized by ANP District Swat in Mingora on the occasion of “Babara Day”.
On the occasion, ANP Provincial General Secretary Shah Hussain Khan, ANP Swat Chapter President Sher Shah Khan, District General Secretary Abdul Malik, former President Ayub Khan Asharay and former MPA Rehmat Ali Khan also spoke.
Mian Iftikhar regretted that unprecedented atrocities were being committed against innocent Muslims in Palestine and massacre of innocent Gazans continued without let and hindrance. “What a pity it is that no one dares to stop Israel”, he noted, adding that it was the Muslim countries raised their voice against this cruelty.
The ANP leader said that the Pakhtun nation had spilled a lot of blood and carried out unprecedented coffins for the sake of peace, adding that “now we do not have any courage to carry more funerals.”
He declared that the Pakhtun nation in general and the ANP in particular, stand with brave police force and would never forget the sacrifices of the martyrs of the police department.
“ANP is the representative party of Pakhtun nation and is fighting for the rights of Pakhtun nation,” he reiterated his resolve. He pointed out that the sacrifices this nation had rendered for the sake of peace were not hidden from anyone, warning that any further unrest in Pakhtunkhwa would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that once again attempts were made to worsen the situation in Swat, but the Pakhtun nation would fight against ‘these plots.’
He further said that a drama had been created by arresting General Faiz in the housing scheme scam. “We demand that a case of terrorism be made against General Faiz and his associates”, he demanded.
He said that the shootings and incidents of unknown persons at police posts in Matta Tehsil and Taligram of Charbah Tehsil in Swat intolerable, added that Bajaur and other areas of the province were in the grip of unrest and the rulers were busy with their luxuries.
He further said that the people of Swat had maintained the atmosphere of peace through their unity and the ANP paid them tribute for their struggle.
