CBD busts gang involved in trafficking of newborn babies

LAHORE/HYDERABAD: Law enforcement officials made significant breakthroughs in two separate criminal activities on Sunday.

In Lahore, the Child Protection Bureau (CPB) successfully apprehended a four-member gang accused of trafficking newborn children.

This action was initiated under the directive of Sara Ahmed, Chairperson of the CPB and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA). During the operation, the CPB’s rescue team also managed to recover a minor girl who was in the possession of the gang.

The suspects, including one woman, are currently under investigation following the registration of their case.

Simultaneously in Hyderabad, police forces were engaged in a series of encounters on Saturday and Sunday nights that resulted in the injury and arrest of five robbers.

These individuals were apprehended in various localities across the city, with arms and a stolen motorcycle in their possession. The confrontations involved exchanges of gunfire, leading to injuries among the suspects.

The injured parties were subsequently transported to different medical facilities for treatment.
