Shakeel Ahmed ousted on corruption charges, PTI denies internal rift

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif has addressed multiple issues surrounding the political climate, including the forthcoming public gathering in Islamabad and allegations of corruption within the party.

He assured that the event scheduled for August 22 would proceed without any legal violations, despite claims of interference from the Islamabad administration.

Barrister Saif also responded to the resignation of Minister Shakeel Ahmed, clarifying the circumstances that led to his departure. He revealed that a committee, established by PTI leader Imran Khan, investigated corruption allegations against Shakeel Ahmed.

The committee’s findings confirmed Ahmed’s involvement in corrupt activities, leading to his dismissal based on their recommendations.

Further complicating matters, complaints of corruption have also been lodged against CM Ali Amin Gandapur. These allegations, presented to Imran Khan while he was in jail, prompted the formation of a committee to ensure rigorous scrutiny and zero tolerance for corruption within the party ranks.

Amid these controversies, Shakeel Ahmed preemptively resigned, addressing the public to mitigate concerns regarding his alleged misconduct.

Barrister Saif reiterated the party’s commitment to unity and transparency, dismissing rumors of internal rifts within PTI as he stated that all party actions, including media appearances, were conducted under the guidance of Imran Khan.
