WATCH: Ex-CJP Saquib Nisar lashes out as he is questioned about alleged links to Faiz Hameed

Former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar, reacted with visible anger when questioned about his alleged ties with former ISI chief Faiz Hameed and his supposed involvement in the events of May 9.

In a recent television program, Fakhar Durrani shared details of a phone conversation he had with Saqib Nisar. Durrani reported that there seems to be growing scrutiny around Nisar, with his name increasingly mentioned in ongoing investigations related to Faiz Hameed.

Fakhar Durrani disclosed that three days prior, he had reached out to Nisar to get his response to these allegations, particularly concerning his handling of the Top City housing case. Durrani inquired about reports suggesting that Nisar not only dismissed the case but also allegedly destroyed the relevant records.

In response, Nisar defended his actions, stating that he made judicial decisions based on what he believed to be correct at the time, in accordance with the available records.

However, when Durrani pressed Nisar about his connections with Faiz Hameed and his alleged role in the incidents of May 9, Nisar became visibly agitated and declared that he was not answerable on these matters.

Durrani further mentioned that, according to his sources, significant evidence had already been collected against Nisar, which possibly led to his departure for London. While Nisar maintained that his visit was routine, Durrani noted the timing coincided with a noticeable shift in Imran Khan’s public statements over the past three weeks.

It is important to note that former ISI Director General, Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed, was recently detained by the Pakistan Army. Reports also indicate that three retired officers are currently in military custody as part of court-martial proceedings against Faiz Hameed.
