No evidence of assault in Islamabad ‘foreign woman’ case, reveals police

ISLAMABAD: In the latest developments of a case that has garnered significant attention, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have disclosed findings from the medical report of a woman previously reported to have been abused, revealing no evidence of physical assault.

Contrary to earlier reports, the woman is identified as a Pakistani national, while her husband holds Belgian citizenship. The couple has been married for approximately five years in Pakistan.

Initially, the woman accused two individuals of rape, a number which she later increased to five, according to police sources. Further investigations have brought to light concerns regarding the woman’s mental health, prompting her transfer to the Edhi Center for continued care.

During the police inquiry, no evidence of any criminal activity was discovered at the residence of the arrested suspect, Tamizuddin. He reported that the woman had been visiting his home daily, leading to an incident where he restrained her and left her outside, after which she was found tied up in Islamabad.

Initially, there were claims that she was a Belgian national, but these were subsequently refuted.
