Three soldiers martyred, five Khawarijs ‘sent to hell’ in Bajaur: ISPR

  • Security forces engaged the infiltrators, and foiled their attempt to cross into Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Three soldiers were martyred and five Fitna al Khawarij terrorists were eliminated during security forces successfully attempt to thwart infiltration at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, the military’s media wing reported on Monday.

According to a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident occurred on Sunday night, when security forces detected the movement of a group of insurgents attempting to cross the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

The security forces engaged the infiltrators, preventing their entry into Pakistan. As a result of the exchange of fire, five terrorists of Finta al Khawarij were killed, and four others were injured.

During the operation, three soldiers fought valiantly and were martyred. The ISPR identified them as 36-year-old Naik Inayat Khan from the Khyber district, 35-year-old Lance Naik Umer Hayat from Mansehra district, and 25-year-old Sepoy Waqar Khan from Peshawar district.

The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s ongoing request for the Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side, stressing the need to prevent Afghan territory from being used by terrorists to launch attacks against Pakistan.

The statement also emphasised the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to securing the nation’s borders, noting that the sacrifices of the soldiers would only strengthen their resolve to combat terrorism.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday lauded the security forces for their successful operation in the border areas of Bajaur, which resulted in the killings of five Khawarji terrorists.

According to a statement from the PM’s Office, the prime minister, in his condolence message, prayed for the elevation of ranks in Jannah for the five Pakistani Army soldiers, including Naik Inayat Khan and Lance Naik Umer Hayat and Sepoy Waqar Khan.

The Prime Minister prayed Almighty Allah to grant patience to the families of the martyred soldiers. He praised the courage of the Pakistani Army, calling them a steadfast shield for the nation.

Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating five terrorists of Fitna Al Khawarij on the Pak-Afghan border. He praised the security forces for their timely action in foiling the nefarious plans of the terrorists.

Interior Minister paid homage to the 3 brave soldiers, Naik Inayat Khan, Lance Naik Umar Hayat, and Sepoy Waqar Khan, who embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire. He said that the martyrs have made the invaluable sacrifice by laying their precious lives for the sake of the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed profound sorrow over the martyrdom of three soldiers of Pak army in Bajaur during their fight against terrorists and paid tribute to their sacrifice in defending the country.

A press release from the President House stated that the president praised the martyrs as the nation’s pride and expressed deep gratitude for their supreme sacrifice. He highlighted that the security forces successfully thwarted the terrorists’ infiltration attempt, defeating them decisively. The president affirmed that the entire nation salutes the Pakistan Army’s spirit of patriotism and sacrifice.
