Foolproof security in place as Pindi gears up for Pak-Bangladesh cricket matches

RAWALPINDI: Over 4,000 police officers will be deployed to ensure security for the upcoming Pakistan-Bangladesh cricket matches, according to City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Hamdani.

He stated that comprehensive security measures have been finalized for the matches, which will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Additionally, more than 350 traffic wardens and officers have been assigned to manage traffic effectively, ensuring convenience for the public.

The CPO announced that expert snipers would be stationed on rooftops around the route and stadium. Furthermore, 99 special pickets have been set up in and around the cricket stadium to enhance security.

The route of the cricket teams will be closely monitored through CCTV cameras. Special teams from the Elite and Dolphin Force, along with the district police, will conduct patrols in and around the stadium.

Senior officers will oversee security duties and brief the officers and personnel at various checkpoints. Cricket fans will be allowed to enter the stadium via a designated route after undergoing thorough security checks.

The CPO emphasized that coordinated efforts from all relevant departments will ensure foolproof security arrangements. All available resources will be utilized to provide the best possible experience for both fans and teams, he added.
