LAHORE: An altercation at a restaurant in Lahore’s Old Anarkali area escalated when SHO Javed Qureshi allegedly assaulted the establishment’s owner and employees after refusing to pay for his meal.
The incident, which was captured on CCTV, began when the restaurant owner asked the SHO to settle the bill, a request that reportedly led to a heated exchange.
Eyewitnesses reported that SHO Qureshi began to hurl abuses and, upon being questioned about his conduct, resorted to physical violence against the staff.
The confrontation intensified as the SHO forcibly took the restaurant owner and several employees to the Old Anarkali Police Station where they were allegedly tortured.
The incident has sparked outrage among citizens, some of whom tried to intervene during the assault but were repelled by the SHO.
The video footage clearly depicts SHO Qureshi pushing and assaulting the restaurant staff.
Following the incident, a complaint has been filed by the affected restaurant owner, Shehzad, with the office of the DIG Operations, demanding action against the SHO.
