LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub on Monday stated that his party seeks forgiveness only from God, not from any worldly entities, dismissing calls for an apology over May 9 incidents.
In a media briefing on Tuesday, Ayub dismissed the notion that PTI owed anyone an apology, confidently asserting that his party had not committed any actions that warranted such a gesture.
He didn’t shy away from criticizing political opponents, pointing fingers at previous administrations for the country’s economic troubles. According to Ayub, these political figures have distorted facts and failed to manage Pakistan’s economy, leaving the country in a state of crisis.
Omar Ayub singled out General Bajwa, accusing him of being one of the key figures responsible for the economic downturn. He emphasized that during Imran Khan’s tenure, the economy was on an upward trajectory, with positive economic indicators.
Now, he lamented, people are reportedly lining up for passports, seeking to leave the country, a stark contrast to the optimism of the PTI government.
Ayub also addressed the events of May 9, challenging authorities to release the CCTV footage from that day. He suggested that the footage would expose the truth, a truth that, according to him, would vindicate PTI’s stance.
Through his statements, Omar Ayub conveyed a mix of defiance and frustration, standing firm on PTI’s record while holding others accountable for the current state of affairs.
