Prince Harry receives big news from UK about his royal role

A royal expert has sparked intrigue with a cryptic post regarding Prince Harry’s current role within the monarchy, fueling ongoing speculation about his potential reconciliation with the royal family.

Angela Levin, a vocal royal author, shared her thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), adding to the debate surrounding Harry’s position within the royal institution.

In her post, Levin stated: “The bill has been passed. The current Counsellors of State are The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Princess Royal, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of Sussex, The Duke of York, and Princess Beatrice… Only working members of the royal family are called upon as Counsellors of State.”

Levin’s remarks come amid widespread discussion about Prince Harry’s continued role as a Counsellor of State, a topic that has drawn significant attention in recent reports.

For clarity, Counsellors of State hold the authority to perform most of the official functions of the Sovereign, such as attending Privy Council meetings, signing routine documents, and receiving credentials from newly appointed ambassadors to the United Kingdom.

By law, these Counsellors include the spouse of the reigning Sovereign and the next four individuals in the line of succession, provided they are over the age of 21.

In 2022, amendments to the Regency Acts of 1937–1953 allowed The Princess Royal and The Duke of Edinburgh (formerly The Earl of Wessex) to be appointed as Counsellors of State.

According to a private news outlet and the royal family’s official website, the current Counsellors of State are The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Princess Royal, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of Sussex, The Duke of York, and Princess Beatrice. However, in practice, only working royals are typically called upon to fulfill these duties.
