It is quite heartbreaking to learn that terrorists attacked a school van in Dheri Kot, Attock, recently, injuring five and killing two innocent children. The children, aged 5-10 years, were on their way to school early in the morning. It is unimaginable that anyone would target children. Such an act is inhuman and comparable to the atrocities that are being committed by the Israeli army against the children of Gaza, where children are killed almost on a daily basis.
The government must treat this incident with the utmost seriousness, and take decisive action against those responsible for this heinous act. Any crime against any children should carry the harshest punishment, and the government should deploy all its resources to find the culprits, and bring them to justice. Such incidents discourage parents from sending their children to school, particularly in rural areas. The government must ensure the protection of all school-going children.
