PIA official in Dubai dismissed following harassment accusations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has acted swiftly following multiple complaints of harassment against its Regional Sales Manager in Dubai.

Upon receiving the complaints, PIA’s administration immediately responded by removing the accused from his position.

A spokesperson for PIA confirmed that several complaints were lodged, accusing the manager of harassing female employees. PIA promptly initiated an investigation into the allegations, removing the manager from his post in Dubai while the inquiry is conducted.

The spokesperson assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

In a related development last week, PIA’s Deputy Station Manager in the UK, Iqbal Javed Bajwa, resigned after it was revealed that his academic certificate from the Lahore Board was falsified.

Bajwa, who was appointed by PIA’s finance manager in Birmingham on July 30, initially resisted resignation despite the discovery of his fraudulent credentials. However, he eventually stepped down under family pressure.

The PIA spokesperson reiterated the airline’s zero-tolerance policy toward falsified credentials, emphasizing that strict action was taken in Bajwa’s case.
