Makhdoom Tahir sworn in to National Assembly after PPP win

ISLAMABAD: Makhdoom Tahir Rasheeduddin, newly elected as a member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), took his oath on Saturday in the National Assembly.

The oath was administered by Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah.

During the session, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated Makhdoom Tahir Rasheeduddin on his decisive victory in the NA-171 Rahim Yar Khan by-election. Bilawal praised the people of Rahim Yar Khan for their confidence in the PPP’s leadership.

He also extended his gratitude to the PPP workers, local leaders, and supporters for their dedicated efforts in securing the win.

“This victory signifies the people’s faith in the PPP’s vision of a progressive, inclusive, and democratic Pakistan,” Bilawal said.

He further highlighted, “Makhdoom Tahir Rasheeduddin’s success is not just a victory for the party but also for the people of Rahim Yar Khan, who have opted for progress and development instead of regression and hollow promises.”

Bilawal emphasized the responsibility that comes with this mandate, noting the party’s duty to serve the public with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

“The people of Rahim Yar Khan have rejected the politics of hate, abuse, and confrontation,” he stated. “The by-election results show that the public no longer supports divisive politics,” he added.
