ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Monday granted post-arrest bail to PTI MNAs in all cases registered against them at the Sangjani police station.
The bail was approved upon the submission of surety bonds worth Rs30,000 each.
Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain, while hearing the bail petitions filed by the PTI leaders, ordered their immediate release.
Prosecutor Raja Naveed, during the proceedings, noted that one of the MNAs, Ahmad Chattha, faced charges that could carry a prison sentence of at least three years. “Therefore, we request the court to reject his bail plea,” he argued.
The judge inquired if the police had recovered any incriminating material from the MNAs, including Chattha and Sher Afzal Marwat. The prosecutor confirmed that no such recoveries had been made.
The arrests took place shortly after the PTI MNAs concluded a rally in Sangjani, with several of them, including those inside Parliament, being taken into custody during the police crackdown.
