Meghan Markle appears to be contemplating two main options as her husband, Prince Harry, prepares to return to the UK later this month.
The Duke of Sussex is confirmed to attend the WellChild Awards on September 30 in London. In a statement, Harry expressed his continued dedication to the cause, saying he is once again “honoured” to participate in the event, which celebrates the “remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs.”
While Harry’s attendance is confirmed, it remains unclear whether Meghan will accompany him to the event.
PR expert Renae Smith weighed in on the two choices Meghan might be considering. On the one hand, she could choose to join Harry to show support for his charitable work. “Meghan’s presence would demonstrate solidarity and reinforce her commitment to supporting Harry, especially at such a high-profile event,” Smith told Express.co.uk.
She also noted that appearing at the event could boost Meghan’s popularity among the UK’s younger generation, particularly Gen Z, who have shown increasing support for her in recent polls.
However, Smith acknowledged that Meghan may be hesitant, fearing backlash. “Her return could reignite criticism from those less supportive, particularly if media attention shifts away from the charity event and toward her ongoing rift with the Royal Family,” she added.
As of now, there has been no official word from Meghan or Harry regarding her potential appearance at the event.
