Comprehensive plan in motion to improve facilities at Sindh shrines, says minister

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat, and Ushr, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, has announced that a comprehensive plan is being developed to resolve longstanding issues at shrines across the province.

The minister shared this during the 93rd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Saman Sarkar near Pangrio on Sunday, which were marked with great devotion and enthusiasm.

Addressing the challenges faced by visitors, Shirazi assured that the new plan aims to provide basic facilities at all shrines in Sindh, with a particular focus on addressing the lack of clean drinking water at the shrine of Hazrat Saman Sarkar. He also promised that a package would soon be announced to enhance accommodation and other amenities at the site.

When questioned about new recruitments, the minister confirmed that the Auqaf department would soon initiate a hiring process, giving preference to local youth.

The 93rd Urs celebrations included a variety of traditional activities such as horse racing, kabaddi, musical performances of Sufi Kalams, a circus, and vibrant marketplaces set up for the annual fair.

Earlier, the minister received a warm welcome at the shrine, where he paid his respects by laying a wreath and performing the traditional “Chadar Poshi” ceremony.
