FIA nabs Lahore man for visa fraud outside US Consulate in Karachi

KARACHI: In a notable operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a Lahore resident outside the US Consulate in Karachi for attempting to secure a US visa using fraudulent documents.

The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was caught presenting fake paperwork linked to a cricket club as part of his visa application.

Sources indicate that the accused had obtained the forged documents from an agent named Sajjad, in exchange for 32,000 UAE dirhams, approximately 450,000 Pakistani rupees. Upon being questioned by authorities, the man was unable to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the legitimacy of the documents he had submitted.

The FIA’s swift response highlights its ongoing efforts to crack down on visa fraud and uphold the integrity of the application process. Further investigations are now underway to track down the agent involved and any potential network tied to the scheme.
