Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s luxurious purchase in Portugal has constantly been making headlines speculating over the hidden motives behind the new holiday home.
While many have pondered that royal couple may have found a solution to their possible visa woes to travel into Europe, others suggest that this might be a sign of an underlying problem between the Sussexes.
According to Express.co.uk royal editor, Nathan Kay, Harry and Meghan are seeking a way to stay relevant after making a few splashes with their explosive Netflix documentary and then Harry’s memoir Spare.
Kay suggested that one possibility is that the couple “may begin to forge a more independent life from each other” and this could be “Harry’s new home while Meghan spends more time in the United States.”
Recently, Harry made waves with his solo appearances and engagements in New York, London, and South Africa. Meanwhile, Meghan stepped out in striking red gown for Los Angeles Children’s Hospital charity gala, raising eyebrows at their current status of marriage.
While the public and royal watchers have grown tired of the couple’s “mudslinging,” Harry and Meghan have kept mum about royal insights.
Kay shared that the new European home “could be a stepping stone to rebuilding royal relationships.”
The report comes after a source told Closer magazine that Meghan and Harry are “worlds apart from where they were even a year ago and have become increasingly distanced, both emotionally as well as physically.”
The insider also claimed that “it’s no secret they’ve been living separate lives for some time now.”
It remains to be seen how the couple will be navigating between their now-homes on different sides of the world.
