Justin Bieber paid tribute to fellow musician Liam Payne after the former One Direction star tragically died at 31. Bieber shared a video on Instagram of fans leaving flowers and mementos at a memorial for Payne, along with a simple message: “Rest easy.”
Payne passed away in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. Toxicology reports revealed that he had multiple drugs in his system, including cocaine and crack. Investigators also found an aluminum pipe and other substances in his hotel room.
Before his death, Payne was reportedly acting erratically and had a history of mental health struggles and addiction. His girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, shared her grief on Instagram, describing him as “everything” and promising to love him forever.
Payne’s former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik also expressed their sadness. Malik postponed his US tour in response to the heartbreaking loss.
