- Six of the fallen soldiers hailed from South Waziristan and four from Karak district: Interior Ministry
PESHAWAR: Ten Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers were martyred in attack by the terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khawarij on Zam FC check-post in Darzanda in Dera Ismail Khan (DI) Khan in the dark of night, according to the Interior Ministry spokesperson.
“The terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khawarij launched a night attack on DI Khan’s Zam FC check-post in Darzanda, which the Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers bravely retaliated,” the Interior Ministry spokesperson informed.
“The soldiers bravely fought with the attackers and during the fire exchange, ten of the FC soldiers were martyred, while three others sustained injuries”, the spokesperson confirmed, commending the martyrs for thwarting the attack on the check post.
He said that six of the fallen soldiers hailed from South Waziristan and four from Karak district.
The Ministry paid tribute to the FC’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and establishing peace, stating that the supreme sacrifices of these soldiers strengthen the nation’s steadfast resolve.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack on the Zam FC check-post and also denounced recent incidents, including gunfire directed at the SHO’s vehicle in Bannu and an assault on a sub-inspector in Kohat.
Naqvi paid tribute to the ten FC personnel who lost their lives during the assault in the Darzanda area, highlighting their bravery in confronting the terrorists.
In his remarks, Naqvi emphasized that the sacrifices of these brave soldiers serve to reinforce the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also condemned the attack and said that the attack on the check-post was a conspiracy of forces hostile to Pakistan.
They said that they share the grief families of the martyrs equally.
Earlier, at least two Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom and three other injured in a terrorist attack on an FC camp by the terrorist in the Muslim Bagh area of northern Balochistan.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident resulted in a clash between security forces and terrorists, leaving two security personnel martyred and three others injured.
In response, security forces launched a clearance operation, resulting in the killing of two terrorists. The operation is still on-going, with the terrorists being confined to a building and besieged by security personnel.
